Superb opportunity: Principal Geotechnical Engineer at a medium-sized Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy. This role is based in London.

Overview
Our client is an award-winning, well-established engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation. This dynamic and growing company provide a variety of engineering services across a range of sectors around the world. They support their own Civil & Structural divisions, work on a great deal of brownfield redevelopment sites, and work cross discipline.
They are seeking to set up a new Geotechnical / Geoenvironmental team in London and are looking for a Chartered Principal Geotechnical Engineer to set up and run the team. The ideal applicant would have expertise working in a variety of project types, schools, hospitals, residential, commercial and a background working with main contractors—although candidates with other project experience will also be considered.

Requirements

Proficiency with ground investigation, sampling, and laboratory analysis methodologies as well as background conducting, scoping, and analysing intrusive ground investigations and preliminary risk assessments

Strong technical and leadership abilities, as well as the capacity to help others grow by mentoring, coaching, and training them

Ability to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy, with awareness of structural, civil, transport, planning and landscape architecture capabilities in the wider firm

A thorough understanding of the assessment and detailed design of slope stability, foundations, earthworks specification, retaining structures, soil and rock engineering and ground improvement

Ideally expertise working in a variety of project types, schools, hospitals, residential, commercial with a background working with main contractors

Previous project management expertise, including oversight of resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline

The capacity to manage technically complex project teams, with a background in managing their own team

Proven ability to write reports and a history of generating accurate work

Capacity to interact and connect with clients

Proven business development / work winning skills
Qualifications

A solid academic background with a BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a Meng or MSc

You will be Chartered or very nearly Chartered
