Excellent opportunity at a Medium-sized Geo-Environmental Consultancy who have an opening for Senior Engineering Consultant – Ground Investigation, based out of their Manchester office.

Overview
Our client specialise in ground related risk management and building fabric investigation. Their wide range of services include expert consultancy on geotechnical and geo-environmental projects, support with soil waste management and building fabric matters.
They are looking for a driven, Senior Engineering Consultant to support the Ground Investigation team in Manchester. Some travel will be required to accommodate client meetings, training and business development. As a guide, it is envisaged at least 80% of the role will be office-based.
The Ground Investigation teams are multidisciplinary, covering factual reporting, contaminated land risk assessments and geotechnical appraisal, so a good basis in these topics as well as experience in managing people and demonstratable leadership skills is essential.
As a consultant, you will be joining an experienced team where Continued Professional Development, training, and mentoring are integral to their work. As well as training others, they actively encourage CPD, and you will be supported to work towards relevant charterships or accreditations to support your areas of interest and specialities as they develop.
Responsibilities

Leading a project team to deliver high quality ground investigations, providing innovative and sustainable solutions to all aspects of geoenvironmental and geotechnical consultancy

Responsible for mentoring, developing and training your team

Reviewing project work and writing quotes

Assisting the GI Director by actively engaging in business development, enhancing client relationships and expanding the existing client base
Requirements

Minimum 5 years' relevant industry background
-
A relevant degree
-
Relevant chartership or working towards it
-
A good understanding of land contamination risk assessment

A good understanding of geotechnical analysis

Good communication skills (written and verbal)

Proactive and positive attitude

Problem solving ability

Demonstratable management, leadership and mentoring skills

Full driving licence
